After four years in the U.S. Navy, Darrell moved to Los Angeles in 1997, interned his way up through the city’s finest rooms, and never looked back.

It was at Ocean Way Recording that Darrell met famed Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. He soon became Godrich’s full-time engineer, tracking Beck’s Sea Change, Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief, Paul McCartney’s Chaos and Creation in the Back Yard and many others.

Today he splits his time between producing and mixing records across genres. As principal recording engineer on Beck’s Morning Phase he earned three additional Grammys — Best Engineered Album, Rock Album of the Year and Album of the Year.

Across a discography spanning OutKast, Radiohead, Switchfoot, Molotov and Beck, Darrell has built a reputation for capturing sound with rare clarity — the through-line behind every multi-platinum record he touches.
