A dedicated family man, classically trained on piano and self-taught on drums and guitar, Claye is well ahead of the curve — defining not just his own sound and spirit, but helping others find theirs too.

His musical journey began in his home country, writing and producing reggae tracks of surprising accomplishment when he was barely into his teens. Never one to be pigeonholed, his exploration didn't stop there: expertly synthesising his wide-ranging influences — from Timbaland and The Neptunes to Teddy Riley and Hans Zimmer — Claye soon became a hugely in-demand producer.

He has shared his gift for earworming melody wherever he has travelled, sculpting tracks for artists as diverse as Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, Ky-Mani Marley, Chipmunk, Gentleman, Aloe Blacc and Michael Patrick Kelly. The latter's iD album earned Claye Platinum status in Germany for producing and co-writing the lead single "iD" and album cut "Awake."

Claye also contributed the key cut "Hold My Hand" to worldwide reggae sensation Sean Paul's Grammy-nominated Imperial Blaze, the track featuring Timbaland's protégé Keri Hilson on vocals — a testament to a producer whose reach spans continents and genres alike.
